Psychotherapy Practice

ABOUT
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has experience working with clients from all walks of life. I have been so fortunate to treat a diversity of populations, from community mental health in NYC and West Oakland, to managed care in large hospitals and the VA, to the tech and business industries of San Francisco and beyond.

Via all of this experience, there is one thing I know for sure; no one is impervious to the impacts of trauma, addiction and grief. We all have moments in time where we need some guidance and help. I bring years of experience coupled with evidenced based therapy interventions to help people get back to the place where life is interesting again.

I achieved my Masters in Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work and have been a director at a trauma focused Intensive Outpatient Program treating pychological and addictive disorders for the past 4 years, and have been treating clients for the past 15 years.

I fully believe in being a warm, down to earth, and active partner in the therapeutic relationship.

I believe that therapy works best when we use the right intervention at the right time. Here are some of the modalities I will draw from to provide therapy tailored to your symptoms, values and goals.

Attachment Focused EMDR

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is proven to be highly effective for those who have experienced trauma.

DBT Skills

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is an evidenced based therapy designed to teach us how to change behaviors that are no longer serving us. DBT skills are helpful to build our practices in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. My goal in sharing these skills is to help you live in greater alignment with your valued goals.

Somatic, Mindfulness Based Therapy and Parts Work

Somatic and Mindfulness Based Therapies are designed to focus on the body and our inner experiences to address trauma, anxiety, behavioral patterns, and other mental health challenges. Parts work allows us to get interested and familiar with different parts of ourselves to move through stuck patterns.

Psychodynamic

Otherwise referred to as "talk therapy," psychodynamic work supports clients to delve into their past experiences and relationships to develop a deeper understanding of their current struggles.

Individual Therapy

Through individual therapy, clients have the opportunity to gain self-awareness, identify patterns, and cultivate resilience to navigate life's complexities.

Couple's Therapy

In Couple's Therapy, couples can develop effective communication skills and learn strategies to navigate conflicts constructively. Serving traditional and ethically non monogamous relationship styles.

Family Therapy

Through Family Therapy, families can learn constructive ways to express emotions, develop healthier boundaries, and build trust and resilience.

Gender and Sexuality Affirming Care

As a queer therapist (pronouns she/they), I value serving the LGBTQ+ community. Whether you or a loved one are seeking support navigating gender or sexuality, I am happy support your journey. This focus includes additional experiences such as fertility, adjusting to parenthood, the impact of gender in the workplace, intimacy, health challenges, gender expression, etc (which may impact people of any identity).
